With the recent nationwide focus on carding for the sale of tobacco merchandise, it's easy to become lax with checking identification for the other age-sensitive product sold in convenience stores: beer.
Police departments across the country still are conducting stings in c-stores to make sure retailers aren't selling alcohol to underage drinkers. In an effort to pass these tests, many store owners try to provide employees with proper training and incentives to continue carding.
