NEW YORK -- Merwin (Hank) F. Kaminstein, chairman of Brookstone Co. since April 1990 and a former top Federated Department Stores official, died Dec. 21 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Cause of death was cancer, according to the company. He was 63.
"He spearheaded and enhanced a new culture at Brookstone, which has become a very collaborative, participatory environment with a high level of integrity in how people and vendors are treated," said Terre Simpson, president of Simpson Associates, an executive search firm.
