Feb. 4 -- FUTURE WATCH: Jaguar plans to offer a car with adaptive cruise control within 12 months. The only new car scheduled from Jaguar by then is the S-Type sedan, which goes on sale in the United States in spring.
The system, to be supplied by General Motors' Delphi Automotive Systems, initially will be an option in selected markets. It uses Doppler radar broadcast from a sensor behind the bumper to measure the distance and relative speed of vehicles ahead.
