Third time's a charm. Twice before nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, John Hume finally earned the distinguished award this past October. Northern Ireland's First Minister, Ulster Unionist Party leader David Trimble, is Hume's co-awardee. Both men have put their political careers on the line in support of the peace agreement in Northern Ireland, brokered by former U.S. Senator George Mitchell.
