FRANKFURT, Germany-U.S. fabric suppliers showing at Heimtextil reported mostly steady order-writing compared to 1998, thanks in part to growing international markets that moved a steady stream of buyers through their booths. Heimtextil concluded its four-day run January 16 at Messe Frankfurt here.

While some global situations like the Brazilian currency crisis were causing concern about the industry as a whole, Steve Graven, vice president of international marketing for Culp, commented that other regions, such as Russia, had improved.
