Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., the world's largest manufacturer of semiconductor memory devices, has placed an order for numerous ASM Lithography (ASML) advanced photolithography systems. The units began shipping earlier this month to facilities in Korea. ASML systems will be installed for the production of Direct Rambus(TM) DRAM (D-RDRAM) memory devices.
