FLORENCE -- The good news at the latest Pitti Filati yarn fair was lower prices; the bad news was the 100 percent tariffs the U.S. threatened to levy on all-cashmere sweater imports from Europe.
As for trends, the growing array of technical ideas that use derivatives of such materials as paper, clay, metal and milk blended with a variety of fibers sparked interest.
The three-day event at the Fortezza da Basso here ended Jan. 29.
