NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 18, 1999--In January, U.S. hedge funds returned 3.0% net, following fourth quarter 1998 net returns of 9.7%. Offshore hedge funds returned 0.4% for January, held back by weak performance in offshore emerging markets funds, said George P. Van, chairman of Van Hedge Fund Advisors International, Inc. (VAN), a leading hedge fund investment advisory firm.
