SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 18, 1999--Infonetics Research, Inc. today announced the findings of their new supply-side service, VPN Hardware Market Share Service.
The 4Q98 market for dedicated VPN hardware totaled $18 million dollars and it will grow to $145 million dollars by 4Q99. The VPN-enabled router market was $366 million, growing to $2.2 billion in 4Q99. While the VPN-enabled router market is larger in both units shipped and revenue, most VPN-enabled routers will not initially be used for VPNs.
