Feb. 18 -- NEW SOFTWARE WILL BE BORN IN CHARLOTTE: FICS America, the U.S. unit of a Belgian company that makes software for big banks, will double the size of its Charlotte headquarters by opening a software development center this spring.
The center, which is expected to employ 50 people within two years, will design the company's next-generation Internet banking software.
FICS hopes to hire 25 programmers this year, beginning in late spring, and another 25 next year. FICS America President Fred Dumas said experienced programmers will earn an average of $75,000 a year. The new center will increase Charlotte ...
