Jon Corzine, co-chief executive officer of Goldman, Sachs & Co., has resigned from that post. The surprise move leaves Henry Paulson Jr. as the firm's sole chief executive. Corzine will continue as senior partner and co-chairman of the firm, sharing those titles with Paulson.
Corzine's departure comes against a backdrop of the firm's recent fixed-income trading losses and its controversial plans for an initial public offering.
