MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 23, 1999--Radio Unica, the first and only national, 24-hour Spanish-language radio network in the U.S., announced that it has purchased radio station WIDB-AM 950 in Chicago from One-on-One Sports, Inc. for $16.75 million. Radio Unica's purchase of WIDB-AM 950 is subject to FCC approval and is expected to close by the end of the second quarter.
Radio Unica 950 AM Chicago, the new name of the station, provides day-and-night full-market coverage of the greater Chicago metro area. Home to approximately a million Hispanics, Chicago ranks as the 4th largest Hispanic market in the United States.
