Good morning. This is United Press International's fourth news report for Thursday, Feb. 25: New school bus legislation
(ALBANY) State Senator Carl L. Marcellino (R-C, Syosset) says the Senate has passed a legislative package which will improve school bus safety and protect children from possible abandonment and injury on school buses. The School Bus Safety Package will focus on unfit and unsafe drivers and will give employers more information on prospective drivers during the hiring process. The legislation will also make it easier for bus companies to remove incompetent drivers from the road.
