NEW YORK -- Polo Ralph Lauren might be ready to step outside its own brand and snap up the hot Club Monaco specialty chain.
Reached Monday, a Polo spokesman said only: "It is our corporate policy not to comment on rumors and speculation."
But financial sources indicated that Polo is actively in search of growth and has been looking over Club Monaco's books. An acquisition, several sources indicated, is a possibility, but a time frame for any prospective deal could not be learned.
