Recently the Vatican has insisted that Anglican ordination is invalid. Those of us ordained in the Anglican and Episcopal churches are not true priests in the Catholic sense. The judgment against Anglican orders is not new, of course. But anytime someone brings up an old contention about "just what we are or are not," we can't help engaging in some reflection. Especially when the contention says we are rejects.
Being Anglican, however, has a lot to do with being rejected. The real thing about being Anglican is that we are the church that everyone leaves. We never get to reject anyone. They have always left us long before we could think of rejecting them. Look at ...
