NEW YORK--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--March 4, 1999--This week, NPG Records and Paisley Park Enterprises on behalf of the world-renowned musical composer and performer The Artist Formerly Known as Prince will serve nine Internet sites and two publications relating to a lawsuit filed in federal court for the unlawful appropriation on the Internet of his copyrighted musical compositions and the copyrighted "symbol" which The Artist uses as his name. The Artist is the first musical artist who has attempted on his own to attack Internet piracy and to protect copyright owners.
