Antisocial personality disorder (ASPD) and substance use disorders (substance abuse or substance dependence) have a very high rate of comorbidity in the general population (Regier et al., 1990). In addition, ASPD, and its childhood precursor, conduct disorder (CD), are related to the severity and pattern of drug and alcohol use among persons with a substance use disorder.
