MISSISSAUGA, Ontario -- Norm Puhl, president of Pharma Plus Drugmarts, has announced that his company has acquired MEDITrust Mail Order Pharmacy and will operate it as a division of the drug chain.
MEDITrust introduced its mail-order operation to the Canadian market in 1992 and was first in the field with this system of pharmaceutical distribution. The company currently has approximately 1.3 million customers on its database. Although most of those consumers are members of employer-sponsored group plans, a substantial proportion is made up of direct customers, many attracted by the company's vigorous television advertising campaigns.
