This book is the twenty-fourth in a series of Asian/Oceanian historical dictionaries developed by Scarecrow Press of which many have been quality products written by knowledgeable scholars. Sadly, the long wait for a Philippine volume has not been rewarded with a work of similar quality. Rather, Artemio Guillermo and May Kyi Win have produced a book that is so badly flawed that scholars and libraries would be well advised to avoid this title completely.
