SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 16, 1999--Many shy away from Internet-based balloting due to fear of manipulation of results and loss of privacy.
PricewaterhouseCoopers recently tackled these concerns for the annual Webby Awards. Unlike other awards, in which ballots are cast by regular mail, voting for the Webby Awards was completed online at a secure, state-of-the-art web site. The Webby Awards is the first and only Internet awards show to use an independent auditor in connection with its balloting process.
