In an effort to increase the achievement of the nation's kindergarten through twelfth-grade students, the American Association of School Librarians (AASL), has unveiled new standards designed to help students flourish in the Information Age.
Information literacy standards for student learning, prepared by the American Association of School Librarians and the Association for Educational Communications and Technology, guides school library media specialists and others within the K-12 education profession as they cultivate and refine their students' information literacy skills in a range of formats -- print, nonprint and electronic.
