Mar. 18 -- Fast growing Spirit Airlines' move to Miramar this year will mean more service from Fort Lauderdale and other Florida cities, as the carrier makes hundreds of new hires, ultimately reaching 500 local employees.
Spirit will begin its move in late April, relocating 25 to 50 employees to temporary space at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, while its new corporate headquarters is under construction at Miramar Park of Commerce, said Ned Homfeld, the airline's president and principal shareholder.
