Aging is an individual experience influenced by well-being, quality of life, and perceived health. Therefore, exercise and physical activity programs for older adults should be tailored to take into account the variability in physical functioning and vitality of older participants (Hooyman & Kayak, 1996). Recreation and physical education professionals have the opportunity to provide appropriate and beneficial activity programs for older adults.
