COLOGNE, Germany-Styling innovation and directional colors made floor care a category to watch at Domotechnica. While product technology is for the most part on par with what they can find at home, American buyers shop this show for exciting new "cosmetic" ideas.
According to Dave Kielly, national business manager for Sears Canada Brand Central, there are definite cultural differences causing manufacturers to style differently for various markets. "Canada is in the middle of the styling market," said Kielly, who noted that customers in the U.S. place a lower emphasis on styling, while Europeans are highly influenced by design and color.
