DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, March 23 /PRNewswire/ -- The World's Longest Gold Chain, sponsored by AngloGold, the world's largest gold producer, was unveiled to the public in Dubai today (Tuesday, 23 March 1999).

The 4.1 kilometre long, 200 kilogram chain has been made during the past month by one of Dubai's leading jewellery manufacturers. Its completion and unveiling was scheduled to coincide with Dubai's world-famous Shopping Festival which began on Friday (18 March 1999).
