SPRINGFIELD, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 26, 1999--In response to the hard times currently plaguing Illinois pork producers, Illinois Governor George Ryan today announced a major private imitative designed to assist state producers by increasing the purchase of pork products by up to 400,000 pounds. Beginning Friday, March 26, 1999 and continuing throughout the year, more than 600 McDonald's Illinois will feature the McRib sandwich and other pork products on their menu board.
