Most fans at Jacobs Field hope to crane their necks skyward to watch a towering home run by Jim Thome or Manny Ramirez.
Tim Oberdoerster wants them to look at something else: the advertising messages he tows from his single-engine Cessna 172 in the downtown airspace above Jacobs Field.
The president of Aerial Sign Co. in Mentor enjoys a Tribe homer as much as any fan. But he also likes bringing his clients' messages to a captive crowd of more than 40,000 during day games at the ballpark.
"For the most part, it's fun," Oberdoerster said. "You can see forever when you're flying."
