LONDON -- French Connection PLC, the men's and women's wear company, reported a 28.4 percent increase in after-tax profits to $11.1 million (6.893 million pounds) on a 25.2 percent rise in sales to $189.5 million (117.283 million pounds) for the year ending Jan. 31. This compares with after-tax profits of $8.7 million (5.366 million pounds) on sales of $151.4 million (93.666 million pounds) in the previous year.
