Statistics Canada, in cooperation with Mexico's Instituto Nacional de Estadestica, Geografea, e Informatica and the U.S. Economic Classification Policy Committee, recently developed the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS Canada 1997). Statisitcs Canada now proposes to develop a Product Classification system in cooperation with these organizations.
