SANTA FE, N.M., April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The following statement may be attributed to Greg Allen, AT&T government affairs vice president, in regards to Gov. Gary Johnson's veto of SB 408.
"New Mexico consumers will have the opportunity for local telephone service competition with Gov. Johnson's decision to veto SB 408. The U S WEST-backed bill would have eliminated regulatory oversight of the local telephone monopoly and granted it the authority to raise New Mexican telephone service prices.
