Jeff Bowersox picked up an extra week of vacation when he took a job as controller of GenCorp's automotive parts subsidiary in Germany.
Instead of four weeks' vacation, Bowersox got five weeks _ more in line with the long, lazy summer breaks European companies give their employees.
He also got to stay home from work on Reunification Day, May Day and other German holidays.
But it wasn't all fun, play and extra days off. He had to work on Thanksgiving and the Fourth of July while his friends back home were sleeping late and enjoying long weekends.
