Apr. 15 -- Kvaerner Group's top executive in Philadelphia yesterday said that if Kvaerner cannot sell its shipyard here, the company will continue to build and operate it.
Harald Rafdal, chief executive of Kvaerner Philadelphia Inc., insisted the company will find a new buyer to take its place as Kvaerner withdraws from the shipbuilding business.
"It is obvious that the best thing is for Kvaerner to stick to its commitment with this yard and develop it because that is the safest way to sell it," said Rafdal.
