Have you ever thought you had a great negative only to be disappointed because the print was flat or lacked sparkle? Burning and dodging can dramatically improve an image, however small details such as grass or tree branches can't be dodged without leaving a muddy grey area with no contrast. This is when bleaching can help. Fiber based paper reacts more favorably to this procedure than resin coated paper. In my opinion fiber based paper is the only product to use if you want to produce high quality prints. Bleaching can be used in several ways, each designed to improve print contrast or emphasize important subjects within the print.
