Carson City, Nevada, has enjoyed managed but steady growth over the past three decades. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, more than 40 percent of the growth has come from migration of Californians. In many cases, Californians and transplants from other states have left their urban surroundings looking specifically for the benefits of small-town living.
