A new battle is shaping up between abortion foes and researchers anxious to explore the potential of `embryonic' stem cells.
Researchers have announced a breakthrough method of isolating "nervous-system" stem cells that grow into new tissue, raising hopes for treatments for "Elephant Man" disease (neurofibromatosis) and other ailments.
