The ignominious failure of John F. Kennedy's invasion of Cuba at the Bay of Pigs on April 17, 1961, has faded in national memory. The JFK acolytes have blamed the CIA, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the superiority of the Castro forces or the "Mickey Mouse" anti-Castro brigades that allegedly bungled the effort. But to the survivors of that expedition, there is little doubt about the blame.
