Nation's 3rd-Ranked Timeshare Firm Tops $301 Million in Sales
Speculation of a takeover of Fairfield Communities Inc. was fueled by fluctuations in stock price during the past several weeks, a new chairman and Stephens Group Inc. taking a larger position in the company in the past year.
Fairfield's leadership won't address the takeover talk, unfounded or not. "We have a no-comment rule regarding any takeovers," says John McConnell, Fairfield's president and chief executive officer. "The rumors happen all the time in our business."
