Apr. 27 -- Aphelion Technologies Inc. and its owner, Scott Repsher, have been ordered to pay $33,554 in damages to three former employees for unpaid overtime.
U.S. District Judge Samuel Wilson, in a ruling issued Friday, found that Aphelion, also known as APTEX, wrongly classified the employees as salaried managers exempt from overtime laws.
The decision represents a setback for a company facing investigation by the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry of 17 other wage complaints. In addition, Repsher was charged last week with writing a bad check to pay an employee.
