Increasing influence of new generation reflected in new names and youngest woman ever
THE 100+ Most Influential Black Americans list of the last year of the century is a dynamic mixture of old and young in terms of both age and power. The new names on the list, including General Motors Vice President Roy Roberts, reflect Black America's penetration of old structures of power as well as the increasing influence of a new generation operating on the frontier of the new megastructures of money, culture and media.
