NEW YORK -- As magazines go, it's been reinvented more than a few times.
But under new owner Rodale Press, New Woman aspires to be as fat as its brother, Men's Health.
Men's Health, which Rodale launched in 1988, has established itself as a formidable competitor in the men's market, logging 898 ad pages last year, up 6 percent from 1997 and 74 percent from 1994, according to Media Industry Newsletter. Its current rate base is 1.5 million.
Over the next three years, Rodale plans to invest between $25 million and $30 million in New Woman, said sources. The magazine was acquired 1 1/2 years ago by Primedia, prior to which it was owned by Rupert ...
