May 6 -- Dozens of Kanawha Valley physicians have dropped national insurance company Aetna U.S. Healthcare. The company recently cut its payments for services provided by West Virginia doctors.
As a result, many local residents covered by Aetna may have to find new doctors or other sources of medical care.
An Aetna representative said payments were cut because the West Virginia businesses that Aetna represents, including several major Kanawha Valley employers like Union Carbide, couldn't pay for their employees' health care anymore.
