Steroids and steroid substitutes are bad news. Here's why.
What would you give to be a winner? Several past gold medalists and other top competitors in swimming, track and field, and cycling made headlines this past year when evidence surfaced that suggested they had used anabolic steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs. Though these athletes sought a competitive edge, they wound up banned or suspended from their sports.
