* Transamerica Distribution Finance (TDF) Corporation has changed the name of Whirlpool Financial National Bank to Transamerica Bank. TDF acquired the New Castle, DE, bank from Whirlpool Financial Corporation in January 1998 to provide private label credit card financing programs for dealers, distributors and manufacturers for their consumer customers.
* Deere & Co. has donated $100,000 to Texas A&M University toward a $1 million endowed chair in Cotton Engineering, Ginning and Mechanization. The endowment will be used to support research, education and extension activities to benefit the cotton industry.
