Sitting in my Jerusalem synagogue on Pesach, so close to the annual commemoration of the tragedy and bravery of the Jewish people in the Shoah and the fiftieth anniversary of the triumph and bravery of the Jews of Israel in the struggle to reestablish the Jewish state all within a month, I could not help thinking about the extraordinary convergence of events of the past decade.
