When Steven Murphy decided to quit his job as the manager of the posh `21' Club to start a career in publishing, he couldn't have foreseen how fortuitous the move would be.
As director of foreign rights for Crown Publishers Inc., he dealt with overseas publishers.
Twenty years later, in his new position as head of Disney Publishing Worldwide, he's charged with unifying the entertainment powerhouse's children's book operations throughout the world.
``I got to know all the European publishers and booksellers,'' he says.
