Article: New Motorola Low Pressure Sensor Offers High Accuracy Needed For Appliances; Provides a Compact Semiconductor Solution Designed for Washing Machines.

NUREMBERG, Germany--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 18, 1999--

A new low pressure sensor announced Tuesday by Motorola (NYSE:MOT) provides exceptional accuracy in the pressure range from 0 to almost 4kPa (40cm H2O) which is ideally suited for washing machines.

This compact semiconductor solution makes it possible to replace the big washing machine pressure switches and move the sensing to the PC board suppressing separate cable connections. With an analog output, the manufacturer can design a whole range of washing machines with one type of sensor and also add functionalities compared to a two or three point pressure switch.
