NORMAN, Okla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 24, 1999--
Hitachi America, Ltd., a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE: HIT), today announced that approximately 20 Hitachi Group Companies, as well as the Hitachi Foundation, Washington, D.C., have raised more than $50,000 to aid those affected by the recent tornadoes in Oklahoma. A significant portion of the funds raised are being earmarked for Feed the Children, a non-profit organization headquartered in Oklahoma City. The remaining donations of some $10,000 will go to employees who lost homes.
