Ally McBeal," the phenomenally successful FOX-TV comedy/drama, recently has tackled television's biggest taboo of all time -- an interracial relationship between a White woman and a Black man.
In the series, Calista Flockhart is a successful Boston lawyer at a prestigious firm. But, she has nothing that resembles a social life. Instead, she either has lived vicariously through her vivacious Black roommate Renee (Lisa Nicole Carson) or fantasizes about hunky men and erotic romances. That is, until she meets a successful Black doctor named Greg Butters (Jesse L. Martin).
