Former heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali's longtime manager and another associate have filed a $50 million lawsuit in Roanoke, VA, federal court in an effort to stop Columbia Pictures from making a movie about the legendary boxer.
Former manager Jabir Herbert Muhammad and partner Jason Marcus Hirschfeld, who comprised Muhammad Ali Production Company Inc. (MAPI), have accused Ali of "selling the fights to Ali's life story which continue to be owned by MAPI," according to the suit.
The lawsuit alleges that Ali sold the rights to his life story without the permission of his two partners at MAPI.
