ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 27, 1999--
Harris Miller, President of the Information Technology Association of America (ITAA) today testified before the Senate Commerce Committee in strong support of S. 761, The Millennium Digital Commerce Act of 1999.
Senator Spencer Abraham introduced S. 761 in the Senate in March of this year, with support from Senators Wyden (D-OR), McCain (R-AZ) and Burns (R-MT). The bill would give electronic signatures the same legal recognition as handwritten signatures in transactions conducted between consumers and commercial enterprises.
